Everything mixed, and all together

It's time for an update, right? :-)
This beautiful Christmas ornament that you can see above, I got from Kathryn and Tom, as an early Christmas present. It's written in Polish!!!!!!!!! It says Merry Christmas in Polish, and in the back there is description of how Christmas Eve is celebrated in Poland, and all about food and tradition. It's just amazing. I was speechless for a few second. I have no idea where they ordered it, how they found it, and how even they thought of doing it, but I love it and while holding the ornament in my hand I got teary. That was so thoughtful and sweet, and this is my most favorite ornament so far. So, of course, it has the center place on the tree. :-)

The pictures below are from that day when my Danish friends came over. I did posted about how we ran into each other at the PX on base, about two weeks ago. I am still in shock. But here they are, people I used to work with in Copenhagen, now at my house in Sanford! :-) It was a fun evening, a day after Thanksgiving. We hope to see them here the next year, when they come to the US to visit their family for Thanksgiving. I was so happy to see Kim (the guy right beside me), his wife--Anne, Vicki (sitting on the couch right next to me), her son, and her husband--Lars. It turned out that they love poker, so Mom and Rob are already making plans for the next visit! Figures! ;-)

The next pictures are at Kathryn's and Tom's house, when we went to check their beautiful tree with amazing ornaments. It is so pretty and filled with memories. Some of the ornaments Kathy had since the time she was a baby! Her mom kept it, and gave it to her when Kathryn grew up. I loved it! I am such a sucker for stuff like that! Kathryn also made a little snow village under the tree; it looks so cute.

I have more news about my Uncle Mietek. He is feeling better and will be going home soon. We are not sure if we should be happy or worried. As long as he stays at the hospital, he has no access to alcohol, but once he gets home, he will be drinking again and his health my get worse.

A few days ago we found out that Chilli has his new favorite movie. It's "Nacho Libre". I mean this dog was into it, that he had to move to different places in the living room to get a better view. He was so concentrated on the movie that it made us all laugh. He is so cute, but also so smart! Aww.... my little boy.

Mom made us another delicious soup, with chicken in it. I swear, this lady will leave this place being everything but vegetarian! That was the second time she actually cooked meat! But it tasted really good! :-)

It's going to be in the 70's F today. It sucks. I want snow, not sun.

what an incredibly thoughful gift from Kathryn and Tom. "all hearts turn to home at Christmas"...that is why you are teary. There is something about this special holiday that makes us relive the memories of our childhood. Kathryn is a very wise woman to know that this would be the PERFECT gift for our NEW USA girl. I am also glad that your uncle is improving and will go home soon...I know you worry, but the ONLY one that can make him stop drinking is HIM>>>that is NOT on you or anyone else. (Prayers NEVER hurt though) As always, I enjoyed your pictures. They always show you smiling and BEAutiful, and that is how I always think of you! Merry Christmas

The ornament is beautiful. All your pictures are beautiful! I hope your Uncle continues to improve and I am praying for him. It's hard to quit drinking because it's so easily acquired. Maybe his brush with death will help him not drink when he gets out of the hospital. I hope you get your snow soon!

Hello Aunt Andrea! I am glad that you were able to log on, although I do enjoy getting your emails! :-)
My uncle is not thinking the same way as the rest of us, so that's why we are all worried.
I am still hoping and waiting for that white Christmas! :-)
Love you!

The ornament is gorgeous. I love decorating the christmas tree every year to see the ornaments from years past and tell stories about those times. That one will be so special for you.

Merry Christmas!
