Christmas Party at the Country Club

Last Friday we had a Christmas Party for our South Landing neighborhood, at Carolina Trace's Country Club. We were picked up by Tom and Kathryn at 5.30 pm, just so we could get there in time.

Kathryn was performing that night with playing piano and singing Christmas Carols. Both Tom and Kathryn looked gorgeous. It was really cold that day which made the whole atmosphere even more special. It was freezing outside and I loved it! When we arrived to the Country Club, most of our dear neighbors were already there, dressed appropriately in Christmas theme jackets, suits, sweaters, dresses, or shirts. It was very colorful and really interesting to check out everybody outfits. We spend about an hour on walking around and talking to people and greeting on those neighbors we haven't had chance to meet yet.

Then the dinner was served. It was really nice and tasted good. Especially the desert. I just wished the portion was bigger. :-) It was so much fun as Rob and Tom decided to tease me and Kathy took their side. Yep--she betrayed me. Told everyone by the table that I will steal their desserts, because that's what I do. I am not sure if the people believed her, but they sure ate they desserts pretty fast! ;-) Before Kathryn's performance the host of the party announced the winners of the: best tie, as for men, and the best dressed lady of this evening. The best tie was our neighbour who lives on our street and his tie played jingle-bells, he got a bottle of red wine. But guess who won the best dressed lady???? Me!!!!! I was sooooo surprised. Oh, my gosh, really couldn't believe it since there was so many beautifully dressed women around me. And I didn't even wear anything Christmassy! I was so happy to win though. It was like getting an early Christmas present.

Then Kathryn went over to the piano, played, and along with four other people sang Christmas Carols. I loved it so much that now I am going to force Kathy to play for me every day (ok, every Sunday) and sing those Carols. She is so good at it! Truly a professional. This woman has so many talents and I just love her so much!

After the Carols the party pretty much ended and we all went home. It really was a wonderful evening. We came home and took some pictures with the zoo. They were so happy to spread their hair on our nice (dark) clothes.

The party sounds like a lot of fun. I love Christmas Carols. You and Rob both look wonderful...it's easy to see why you won.

Thank you, Beth! You are too sweet! I feel like I didn't deserved the prize because so many other women had REAL Christmas outfits! :-) I noticed that some of the Carols are exactly the same as the ones we have in Poland. The same music, the same words, just all in English. I didn't sing, but I liked it a lit. They didn't include Jingle-bells! Supposedly it's not a Carol, but it's the only song I know how to sing! ha!ha!ha!

Ok, Mom... You little kupka! Here it is: My prize was a bottle of Chardonnay, wrapped in a cute little Chinese inspired dress. I loved it. And I love Chardonnay. When we came home and walked to the door, I tripped on the stairs, fell, and broke the bottle in tiny pieces! Rob was right behind me, making sure I was ok. But I was so sad that I got to enjoy my prize for less than an hour. Rob said that the what matters is the fact that I won, and not the prize. Isn't he just the best? :-) (by the way, I didn't drink that night, my shoes were not too high, and the stairs were not icy).
Kelly, I love my new hair cut too. It's so much easier to handle and it feels so fresh. :-)

Thanks for telling the rest of the story. They say confession is good for the soul. :)

Poor kid. I felt so bad about your loss, but also laughed. Is that wrong?

I think, more importantly is the fact that you didn't get hurt.

I am so glad you were not hurt by the fall or the broken glass...and OF COURSE you'd win, you are GORGEOUS, as was Rob...he should have won something too. Tell him to be a sweetheart and go get you a new bottle of Chardonnay!

Hi Little One,

Well, first let me say that it is very easy to see why you won the contest. Both you and Rob looked absolutely gorgeous. But, my dear, your beauty radiates from the inside out. And Rob, you little stud! How GQ you are looking. You guys clean up pretty well.

Beata, love the hair! Have you tried with this cut to let it go curly? I bet that would look cute, too.

I am SO glad that when you fell and your Chardonnay broke you weren't hurt. Wine can always be replaced. You can't.

Tell Jer her stuff should be there today.

Love ya,
Karen
