The coldest day so far...
BRRRRR...... :-)
This morning, at 8.00 am, when I went out with our doggies, it was only 21'F. I loved it!!! It was so freezing! Plus the wind made it feel even colder. I am usually not so crazy about the wind, but am taking what I can. Still no snow, though.
I haven't heard any news about my Uncle yet. Yesterday I called my cousin, but either her or her mom, couldn't get hold of the doctor, and any of the nurses wouldn't say anything. Now I am waiting when Agnieszka gets home from the hospital. They are six hours ahead of us, so it's already late afternoon over there. They were told not to come and see Uncle the next day after the surgery, too early. But today they all went to visit him. I am anxious to hear the news.
Tomorrow Mom is coming back from DC. We are going to pick her up in Raleigh early in the morning. And as she wished, we are going to have a poker night set up for her. Rob arranged everything and there will be so many people coming that we will need to have two poker tables.
Yesterday, as I was running errands, I decided to cut my hair. I just walked into the first hair salon I saw, and the first woman I spoked to, cut my hair short. Ok, it's not short-short like before. Just til my jaw-line. I like it. But this lady took three hours to do it!!! I was soooooo tired.... Gosh. Why so long? And then she couldn't even straighten it out, or even style it. Well, I told her I will do it myself when I get home. Today I washed it, did it my way, and it's ok. Not bad. :-) I want to look nice because tonight Rob and I, Kathryn and Tom, are going to the Christmas party at the Counrty Club. I am really excited! I still haven't decided what to wear but I really don't care. I will figure something out. :-)

you will be the most beautiful girl at the party, no matter what you wear. I have the picture of you with your hair bobbed in a black halter dress, and Rob in his dress uniform in front of Christmas trees hanging right here in my office...YOU look wonderful..and Robbie is no slouch either. Have a good time together.
oh....and let us know as soon as you know something about your uncle. He continues to be in our prayers.

It's not the dress, or my hair that makes me look pretty, but it is Rob. He is so gorgeous that he lightens up the whole room, wityh me in it! :-) I remember that picture that you have. It was a nice party on Okinawa...

I can't wait to see a picture of your hair. Though you would look beautiful bald! I hope you 4 have a great time at the Christmas Party tonight. My company usually has our party at my house and we never got it planned this year so we will not be having an office party this year. I feel so bad. I told everyone that they were still all welcome to come over, but they all said they didn't want to impose.
Let me know as soon as you hear about your Uncle. We are praying for him.

Hello Aunt Karen and Aunt Andrea, my sweet girls! I called my cousin and she just came back from the hospital. Uncle Mietek is doing ok, but still in pain. Surprisingly, he was walking a little bit already the day after the surgery. Since my cousin and my aunt came to see him in the after noon, the doctor already left for the day and no one could tell them about Uncle's condition. he might be staying at the hospital until Tuesday. His head was all shaved, and Agnieszka, my cousin, could see where the implant was,(and also in his collar bone and some place on his stomach.) Uncle was in a good mood, as usual, but because of the pain he got easily irritated.
Grandma, and my other aunt already went to see him too, so that's good. And on Sunday, when Agnieszka goes to see Uncle at the hospital, I will call on her cell phone, so she can give it to him and I will be able to talk to him too! :-) He is not speaking very clearly but it will just make him happy to know that I am calling just to say that both Rob and I are thinking of him... :-)
Mom, yes, you will have your poker party! And we will be at the airport waiting there to pick you up! Have a nice trip! :-)
Beata won the prize for the best dressed lady at our dinner last night. She stole the show in her black halter dress and her blond new hair cut, which looks terrific. Rob was as handsome as ever too in his dark suit. I think we all had a great time with lots of teasing and joking, especially between Beata and Tom, who loves to tease.

I hope your uncle continues to improve. It sounds like a good sign that he's awake and talking. I hope they give him good pain medicine.
