Something unbelievable!!!

Yesterday something shocking happened to me. My head still spins when I think about it. Mom and I went to Fort Bragg, to the PX. As we were walking looking for candles, I stopped and waited for Mom who was way behind. Suddenly I saw this guy, standing about 10 feet from me, who looked EXACTLY like someones I knew in Denmark. I kept staring at him, without even feeling ashamed, thinking that this just cannot be possible. After good one minute of stare, I finally shook my head and told him that I was so sorry, but I thought he looked like a friend I used to know. He answered me in Danish! Oh...my...GOD! I have never ever been speechless before, in my entire life. It was like seeing a ghost. It took me, again, long time to answered. All those thoughts were going through my mind: we are at the PX, PX is on post where people need an ID to get in, Fort Bragg is in Fayetteville, which is in North Carolina--and in the US!!! What were the odds that this was a friend who used to be my manager when I worked at the airport in Copenhagen, 7 years ago!? NO WAY! But it was him... I must have looked really stupid, since it took me so long to answer. His name is Kim, (yes--In Denmark that's a guy's name), and he was there with his wife and their two adorable children. His wife is American, living in Copenhagen, but her parents are from Sanford (dad used to me in the military, which explains the ID card). It was just amazing. But the other surprise came when I saw Vicki, who also I used to work at the same place! She didn't recognized me at first, or just thought that this can't be possible. But after few seconds we were already hugging, still in deep shock. Then they told me that there is more to it, someone else who worked at the airport came with them, so we went to look for him in the electronic part of the store. As we walked, we quickly tried to catch up on what had happened the past seven years. It was really unbelievable. Mom stayed with Kim's wife, and his mother-in-law, and the kids, talking about how amazing this whole situation was. It turned out that my friends had been visiting NC every year for Thanksgiving, and then going back to Denmark for Christmas.
As the whole situation was unbelievable, it also felt so good to see them all, and to be able to speak Danish. :-) I invited Kim and the rest to come and visit us on Friday, as on Saturday they were already leaving for Florida, for vacation. Now I can't wait until Friday! I can't wait for them to meet Rob and see where we live and all that... That is just one of the most shocking things that had ever happen to me as unexpected meeting goes.
These pictures are from our beautiful Carolina Trace, right after we leave our house.

I told the story a little bit on my blog, but yours is much better because it's so heartfelt. Your excitement really comes through. What fun!
WOW! How exciting! I always say there is a bigger force than us upstaires with a plan for us all, that was meant to be-you were placed at the right place, right time. Have a great Thanksgiving and enjoy your company...kellie S.
Yes, that was pretty surprising and I am still not sure of I wasn't dreaming.:-) But Mom pinched me, with pleasure! ;-)
Happy Thanskiving to you too, Kellie. Love you and miss you!
Hej Beata,
Tak for sidst!
Kim.
