Christmas brunch at Linda's

It has been a while since I posted. I wasn't able to list all of the wonderful pictures from our visit at Linda's house, and I have been trying for days to get them uploaded. No success. I will have to do it again tomorrow. I also have been very busy and just didn't have to write. Sorry for that! :-)

Last weekend we went with Tom and Kathryn to Linda's house for Christmas lunch. Judy was already there. Linda's favorite color is purple (yep--her and Mom are best friends now), and so she decorated her Christmas tree in all shades of purple! There were also those amazing decorations all around her pretty house. It really looked different from what I've seen so far, so interesting! And than the food! Ohhh... it was sooo good! Everything tasted just incredibly good! I couldn't resist Linda's home made chocolate fudges and cookies, which I sandwiched together. Yummy!!! You guys have to try that. We've had such a great time, and even got our Christmas presents!!! Linda is leaving for Christmas to visit her children and we will not see her way after the holidays. So we brought presents from us, but didn't expected to get so many wonderful gifts from Linda! Wow! A whole (gorgeous!) basket with such beautiful hand painted tea set, plus some delicious teas, and also she had made a tray with our pictures inserted in the bottom! I am still amazed how did she get all that done??? Mom got a present too. I am still thinking of sneaking into Mom's room and stealing it! ha!ha!ha! It is the most beautiful bowl I've ever seen! I can't even describe how unique everything was. But just take a look at the bottom pictures and you will see for yourself. :-) Too bad that none of the pictures of Linda posted! But I will try again...

We are done with getting presents for each other, including the animals. Also got all the grocery shopping done. Tomorrow is Christmas Eve and I am cooking traditional Polish supper. I promised Mom long time ago that I will do it for her, so now it's the perfect time. Usually it takes hours, and hours, and hours, to make everything, but since Mom is vegetarian, I don't have to make the fish! That saves about two hours and bad smell for the rest of the day. Yeeaah! But I have a whole (long) list full of different dishes that I am going to work on from early tomorrow morning.

The weather had been really yucky lately (in other people's words--beautiful). It is warm and kind of sunny, in the high 60's and 70's. Hate it. Where is MY snow??? That really sucks. I need to move to Illinois. ;-) I know, I know, just kidding. I wish I had curtains in my windows with a snowy motif on each one, so at least I could cheat my self to white Christmas. Maybe for the next year I should put a wall paper, the kind with photos of snowy mountains on it??? ;-)))

My uncle is not doing very well. The doctor really messed up and now my uncle has to have another surgery, next week. Uncle Mietek, since he left the hospital, has been feeling really weak with terrible headaches, and started loosing sight in his right eye. He also has problems with walking, hasn't been able to even go outside by himself, so he stays home and is getting sadder and sadder. I feel so bad for him. Uncle has always been in such smiley mood, even with his handicap. I hope the next surgery is going to go well and he will feel better this time. What happened is, that this implant in his head was wrongly placed and it has been soaking too much water in his head. That's why Uncle Mietek started loosing his vision. I hope his eye can still be saved. My wish during the Christmas Eve supper (the wish is a part of the tradition) will be for him getting better.

Tomorrow I will post about today, because now I am running out of time. But it was a wonderful day and I have tons of pictures to share. So lets hope that Blogger is not going to act b....y.

Beata...YES, you should move back to Illinois...I will personally see to it you get snow if you do!! I have THAT MUCH influence!

Have a fun, somewhat traditional, day tomorrow, and I will wish right along with you that your Uncle gets well soon. I am SO sorry to hear the surgery didnt' go well.

I enjoyed your pictures, and you really received some lovely things. My boys are ALL home and I could NOT ask for ONE more gift other than having them here with ME on Christmas Morning. (But Uncle Joe went ahead and got me a new diamond band anyway---hey, who am I to argue?)

Merry Christmas!!!

My cute Aunt Cindy! I will consider your offer, but since we are not going anywhere without Kathy and Tom, I am not sure how this is going to work out! ;-)
But the snow sounds so tempting!
I am so happy for you that you will be able to have all your boys for Christmas. That's wonderful! Give them all hugs and kisses from me. And good job for Uncle Joe giving you such a beautiful present! But why didn't you wait until Christmas to get it?????? You little sneaky butt! :-)
Love you!

Uncle Joe gets anxious sometimes, and he took me to pick it out, so it fits behind my wedding set! But he is in the kitchen right now wrapping up some pretty 'suprise' packages for me now, so I am banned from that room.....

I will take Kathryn and Tom in a heartbeat...I dont' have parents either, and they would do just fine, what with the way they care for you and Rob (and now Jer too) But with the age difference being a little closer, I might have to say Big Sister/Brother instead of parents. I am glad you have found such Great People that are so loving and giving.

Merry Christmas to all of you.
