Christmas Eve at our house

Finally I was able to upload all of the pictures that I wanted. But they are separated in three different postings, so keep looking down below for more pictures.

Our first Christmas in our new home turn out perfectly. It was wonderful to celebrated those days together with Mom, and then with Tom and Kathryn. I cooked all day on the Christmas Eve. I promised Mom to make for her Polish Wigilia supper, and kept my word. It only took me ten hours to cook for three people, traditional Polish food. I am glad it happens only once a year, but even with that I am not sure if the next Christmas I will be fully recovered from the exhaustion. But at least we ended up with enough food for the next few days.

We've had tons of wonderful presents, including the ones from our family and friends. (Thank you all for the cards and gifts! It was so exciting opening all of the boxes!) I think it took us about two hours to go through every single present, and even though we thought of leaving some for the next day, we couldn't resist and opened them all on Christmas Eve! :-) The nest morning we've had the stockings, so it was fun anyway!

On Christmas Day, Tom and Kathryn came over for dinner and spend the afternoon with us. As usual, we had an amazing time together. I just can even imagine our life without them anymore! We ate, and ate, and then we had some desserts. I still feel my belly being full from all those dishes. The zoo got some wonderful treats, and of course Chilli had to steal Bobby's bone, which is almost as big as Chilli himself. Bobby loved all the wrapping paper and boxes, and kept diving into piles of trash every five minutes. Nobody stopped him. And somehow he knew that this is the time of the year when he is allowed to do it.

Ok, more updating later. Please, make sure to check all of the pictures that are below in my next two postings. I just couldn't fit them under one title.

I think my favorite picture is the one where I'm reading The Night Before Christmas to you--the one taken from behind the couch. The living room looks so lovely, warm, and inviting.

Miss you guys...it's warm here in Illinois too.

That is one of my favorite pictures too, and because of that fairy tell light in the whole living room! :-)

I love that picture too, it is so awesome. I also love the one with the 3 dogs all lined up on the couch--too cute!

Kelly, we didn't even do anything to put the dogs like that! It was just pure luck! ;-)

Well it looks as if the Dufresne Family (or part of it) had a beautiful Holiday. I can't believe having to COOK for 10HOURS>>>I am not sure I'd do that very often either. Kris says perogi's (?) are really good, but I hear hard to make...or time consuming. I would like to try one someday. Your tree with all the shining packages is so pretty, but you look like a fashion model with all your lovely Christmas 'outfits', and even look cute in your pajama's. I am glad you now have wonderful memories of your first Christmas in your new home.

My dear Aunt Cindy, I answered your comments below, in those other postings. Thank you for your kind words; you are sooo sweet!
I am used to spend so many hours in the kitchen during the Holidays. I get tired though... But I will make you ONE pierogi some day! ;-) My outifits were presents from Rob (I helped him pick it up...) and I loved it! :-)
