Busy, Busy, Busy...

I have some good news. :-) Today I applied for the social security number, and... I will have it already by tomorrow!!! Isn't that great?! Well, it is for me. Until now I had to use my tax identification number. I can't believe that after all those years I will finally have MY OWN social security number! It's great to be in the US! Back in Okinawa it took us months to only find out that we have tons of papers to fill out, and mail, with fees, to Philippines. Here, it took only about ten minutes and it was for free!

Yesterday I also called (and waited in line 35 minutes) to check about how and when I will be able to apply for the US citizenship. I found out that even though I have been married to Rob for over 4 years, I still need to wait until I am a US permanent resident (Green Card holder) for three years. And again, since we were on Okinawa, and everything took so long, I've got my Green Card only a little bit over 2 years ago. So next year, March 15th, I am applying for the US citizenship. Yep--I am!

I also had an unexpected job interview today, over the phone. It went great, and the lady who interviewed me sounded sweet and I could tell right away that she is a very nice person. We actually had fun talking. :-) It is a job that I have been waiting for since we arrived. They've had my resumee for over a month now, and I was supposed to be interviewed sometimes in May. It is a job as a counter manager for Shiseido, at the PX on Fort Bragg. So far, this job had been my priority as it fits perfectly with my school schedule, driving distance, and it meets my expectation about the pay. In comparison, it is the best offer of all. Now I am asking all of you to cross your fingers for me, until next Monday, because that is when I will find out if I am hired or not.

I am also making progress with the house: unpacking, decorating, cleaning, getting rid of (millions of) boxes and papers, and putting stuff on its place. Really, I am lost and have no idea where to find what. Now I only wish we could win in a lottery! That would be great... we could get sooooo many cool things for the house.

It seems like I just can't find time to even relax. I know that after looking at the pictures in my blog it seems like I am constantly having fun, but honestly, I can't even remember when was the last time I had read my magazine?

Ok, time for bed... :-)

Wow. They'd hire you without meeting you? That is so cool. If anyone can make this happen, you can, Beata. You are the friendliest person in the US. Good luck, sweetie. Mom

I am keeping my fingers crossed sis. I think you are posting pics of the dogs just so Rob can see his babies too.

Thank you Mom, you are sooo sweet! :-) They haven't hired me yet, so I am still a little bit nervous, but I am trying to be optimistic. Love you!

Hello Sis, keep them crossed until Monday! ;-) Bobby told me to post his picture. Well, who can blame him--he is such a handsome guy!
