Hmmm...

My sweet friend, Haydee, has been bugging me for weeks about the "housewarming gift registry" online. Both Rob and I didn't want to do it... But Haydee wouldn't give up, and now Aunt Cindy also thinks that this would be a good idea. Haydee keeps saying that this is the American custom... ans since we moved to the US, we need to adjust and follow the rules. Ok, I gave up (who can even resist that little devil?!) and I did what she said. I picked few things in three different places, but remember--you DON'T have to give us any presents, ok??? Only if you already had something in mind and decided to send us something, there are some ideas what we need... I really feel uncomfortable writing this...

Ok, here are the places where I registered: Pier 1 Imports (www.pier1.com), Crate and Barrel (www.crateandbarrel.com) and Pottery Barn (http://www.potterybarn.com/).
I picked just simple stuff, nothing extravagant. Please, don't feel obligated to buy anything! This is just mostly because I was forced to do it! :-) I will just blame it on Haydee! :-)

Please, read my post below about the closing on our house!

beata beata beata....you do NOT need to feel uncomfortable at all, and your friend is right, this is how gift giving is done for big occassion here. You will soon see one of these for Craig and Megan's wedding.(I hope) I want to get you something YOU want and is in YOUR taste, that will fit in YOUR home...so this is the ideal way for me. And NO one thinks you are asking for gifts. Thank you for doing this for US, it makes our life easier. NOW to go Shop....

Ohhh... Aunt Cindy! You really made me feel better! Thank you so much! :-) I wasn't sure if I should do it, or not. But with Haydee, and YOU, it make sense now. Thank you, thank you, thank you! This is actually becoming fun! :-) Kisses and hugs to you!

Beata,

Miss Lady... let me give you a quick lesson in "U.S. Gifts 101". While in the United States should any of the below events occur;

*Birthday, Bar Mitzvah, Bat Mitzvah, Christmas, Christening, Easter, Marriage, Re-Marriage, Re-Re Marriage etc...

Be sure to go to the nearest Department store and register yourself and what items you would like to receive.

WHY??? Because it is easier to tell you up front that I DO NOT LIKE FRUIT CAKES, LAWN JOCKIES AND ANY OTHER ASININE GIFT IDEAS THAT LOOK GOOD IN THE PAPER... than it is to try and return it the day after when you are not looking! :)
