Sunday

It is already Sunday. I can't believe how quick this week went. Maybe because I have been so busy at work, which is a good thing. I was supposed to be off today, but my manager asked if I would come after hours and join her and two other part-time managers to work on decorating, unloading, and putting stuff away. I am not sure what time I will be back tonight, but I am happy to help.

Yesterday morning, Mom left our house. Her little SUV was filled up to the roof with boxes and all kinds of luggage. Wow. She left around 9.30 am, and her 12 hours to drive. It was an emotional morning. After all, we lived together for almost four months. When Mom took off, leaving our drive way, something inside me just moved. I said to Rob, what a remarkable lady. I really do admire her for the passion for life, risks she takes, and adventerous nature. Mom doesn't only talk about the things she would like to do in her life--she just do it! We might have some disagreements, but gees, we have so much in common! Mom, I am really proud if you.

Today we are going to Linda's with Tom and Kathryn. Linda and Judy were not able to come over for my birthday, so we are all meeting today. I can't wait to see them both. I miss them a lot, since we haven't seen each other in weeks now.

Oh, I almost forgot. Last night Rob was holding his little boy, Chilli, in his arms, giving him kisses and love, and he said that he loves Chilli so much that if we were is crisis, he would eat him last!!!

Of course Rob would eat Chilli last...he has so little meat on him...but thanks for sharing that story..it made me laugh outloud.

You and Jer really do have lots in common, though many differences too. I am sure it was as hard to say goodbye to her as much because you have spent so much time with her lately, as because YOU knew how much it meant to Rob to have her there. I know you would do anything to give Rob the happiness he deserves. And having ANYONE living in YOUR space is a big deal. It was so unselfish of you to open your home to your mother-in-law, but it is good she has found a new life and is moving into it. Young married people need to have their 'shouting' room. (and you can take that anyway you want :o)

Thanks, Beata. It was hard for me to leave too, but of course I had to. Thanks so much. Words can't express how grateful I am. You and Rob were so remarkable, not only to open your home to me, but to INSIST that I stay there. So sweet and so generous. I told Rob yesterday that I was honored to be the first family member to know you weren't perfect. :) (Everyone has known that about me for years.) You are such a dear. And yes, we had our disagreements, but the things in common overshadowed them. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

And, Cindy, why do you think I spent so much time in my room? To give them privacy of course. I told them it was because of my reality show addiction. Nope.

Oops, I forgot to say that Rob's Chilli line absolutely cracked me up.

Aunt Cindy, sorry it took me so long to respond to your comment--just busy at work and home. :-) Yep--Rob surely loves his mini-me, that means his Chilli!
Thank you for saying all those nice things about me, but our house is always open to any family members. We are so glad that Mom is moving to her new place, and that she is starting a new adventure!

Mom, as long as you don't share our imperfections with others, you are safe!!! ;-))) It was great having you here, and we both love you so much! Kisses and hugs, Me.
