In Milwaukee

We arrived in Wisconsin pretty late, but still got to enjoy the view of Mom's city. Her apartment is very cute and cozy, and we felt like home right away. Before we went to bed, we opened our Christmas presents. Everything was just lovely!!! Thank you, Mom! :-)
While staying in Milwaukee for those two days, we got to see Mom's favorite places. We loved the tour she gave us, and we had so much fun together. I think the most interesting thing we did was going to the Comedy Sportz, where she had a class on one of the evenings we were there. It was awesome! And Mom is sooooo good at it! I was in awe! We took pictures and also filmed some of the parts where Mom was performing. The woman is a natural talent! So funny, too!
The day we had to leave, we went to Mom's work and got to meet many of her coworkers. It was fun and everybody was so sweet and friendly. But we were running late and had to drive to Chicago's O'Hare, where we would catch our plane to Raleigh in North Carolina. Mom wanted to show us some parts of Chicago, but since the traffic was pretty bad, we decided to head to the airport right away.
It was super freezing! Believe me, I was really happy with my new winter jacket. This warm jacket saved me from going insane!
Since the day we arrived from Okinawa, I have had a bad cold, and it just wouldn't get better. I think it has also something to do with being on an airplane for so long, with all that air conditioning that I hate from the bottom of my heart. Plus the winter-cold temperature in the US.
As in almost every airport, we've had, or I had, problems at the security check in O'Hare. I guess being a spy is not that glamorous after all. But I survived.

We arrived in Raleigh around 10.00 pm, and after loading all of our luggage (which somehow grew tremendously during the past few days) into the rental SUV, we took off to Fort Bragg.
After almost two hours of drive we arrived in Fayetteville. Wow. It felt weird--we were home. I guess I can call it home, since we will be living here for the next three years or more. I can't believe we are not on Okinawa anymore. We still can't get use to the idea...

We parked the car, took our belongings, and checked in at the Airborne Inn. My voice was totally gone by that time, and I had to ask the receptionist for warm tea. Actually Rob asked, since I could only make some weird noises. After getting our keys, tea, and filling out the papers, we went to our room. Hm... I am not really complaining, but it will be hard to live here for a whole month. There is only a microwave and a fridge, right by my side of the bed. The room is pretty big, and the bathroom is ok, but everything is kind of old. And I am being nice saying "kind of". Well, I grew up in Poland, and I've seen worse, so this is fine. The bed is king size, and that's all what matters! :-)

See you in my next posting!

This is a part of the building where Mom lives. So pretty!

Mom's office, at work.

And here I am, freezing my butt off at the O'Hare, where Rob decided to check in outside the terminal. Thank you, Honey...

Ok, remember, there is more new updates below!
