Quick Update
Only 11 days left to our departure!
None of us had been getting enough sleep lately. Our living room looks like a bomb went out in the middle of it. The pets are super excited about all the boxes, bags, new crates, and just all of the trash gathered around. If they only knew... hmmm.... But we decided not to tell them yet.
We finally got the itinerary, and we will pick up the tickets in a few days. On the 18th of March, at noon, we are flying from Naha airport to Osaka, mainland Japan, where we will change planes and fly to San Francisco. After some lay-over, we will continue our trip to Chicago, where we will meet Mom, Aunt Karen and Uncle Jim at the airport! Oh, God--I can't wait!!! We will arrive there on the 18th, at 5.00 pm. And no, it doesn't take 5 hours to fly from Okinawa to Chicago, (I wish!!!) It will be over 20 hours trip.
Since we are arriving so late in the afternoon, we are going to stay at a pet friendly hotel for the night. The idea was mine, so no credit to Rob here for this brilliancy! But big thanks to Aunt Karen for finding us a nice hotel, at a cheap rate, and close to their house. Mom will stay with Karen and Jim, and we will sleep at the hotel with our traumatized, tired, hungry, dehydrated, and totally confused (not to mention freezing) pets. Do I sound too dramatic?? Naaahhhh.... But if there is still some snow left--the dogs are up for a big surprise! :-) They've never seen it yet. It's going to a hard trip, but at the end it will be a lot of fun.
The next day, early in the morning, Mom, Rob and I, and the pets will leave for Quincy. It should be a six hour drive, so we hope the animals can take that much after having a good night of rest (and I am adding myself to that resting too :-))
We will stay in Quincy for a few days, and on the 23rd of March we are flying from Chicago to Raleigh, NC. I hope that while back in Chicago I will have a chance to see my sweet friend Tanya, and also my uncle Janusz, from Poland. Since I was very little when I saw him last, I barely remember him. But I've stayed in touch with him for the past few years.
Once we arrive to Raleigh, we will rent a car at the airport and drive to Fayetteville, where we will stay in temporary lodging. For a month. Until we can move into our new house. Oh, and the day after we arrive in Fayetteville, we are picking up my brand new SUV!!!!!! It's a Ford Escape and everything is custom made according to our wishes. Even the color was picked by me!!! I can't wait to drive it! I hope I can get use to the right side of the road thing... hmmm...
Rob will pick up his truck few days later.
I guess that's enough information for today. I have to go back to packing and cleaning--and back to stressing.
I can't wait to see you, family! :-)

I'm sorry but it will be really warm this weekend, so I think the snow will be gone. But if you're lucky it will snow again. I hope so. I want to watch the animals experience it for the first time. That's always fun.
So much to do during your short time with us in the Midwest. But we'll make it a wonderful vacation. Love you.
I'm getting so excited for you. I can't wait to hear when you land and are with the family. Travel safe.
I am looking forward to meeting you Beata. Max will really enjoy the company. He's a good boy but is a little nervous but another dog will be a great companion for him. Can't wait to see you.
Beatka, your new family can't wait to meet you, either. I know it is hard to leave those you love in Okinawa, but remember they will always be in your heart.
Oh, Rob, we can't wait to see you, either!!! Just kidding, you know how much we love you, right??
We will see you guys, all 6 of you, in 11 days at the airport. We will be the ones with the crazy grins on our faces!
Mom, make it snow!!!!! Use your powers! ;-)
I know the Quincy stay is going to be short, but we will have so much fun! I am glad it's on the weekend, so I will be able to see everybody!
Jill, my sweet Sis, I will keep you updated with everything! I will be missing talking to you on Skype everyday during our move...
Kris, thank you for giving Bobby a home for that month. We are so happy he will be in a safe and loving place. I can't wait to meet you! I've heard so much about you from Rob!
My darling Karen!!!! Only 10 days to go!!! Oh, my God! I am going to pee in my pants from the excitement! ha!ha!ha! You have no ide how happy I am that you guys are going to be there at the airport! What a treat! :-)
I love you all!!!!! :-)
I STILL can't believe it is going to happen, but your Blog is wearing me out just reading all you have to do to prepare. Good luck with it all...make Rob help..in fact, kick back and let him do it ALL. God's Speed to you and your Zoo. What color Escape did you pick? (I love that SUV, but we have never had a Ford) I would pick YELLOW> Can't wait, Can't wait, CAN NOT WAIT.
Aunt Cindy! Rob IS actually doing most of the stuff, but we equally are busy. It's even more than I am able to write in my blog. Just putting all of it down, makes me tired! ;-) We both have been having trouble with sleeping: Rob staying all night making phone calls to the US, and me just being too stressed and having insomnia. But we will survive!
I picked the golden ash, or something like that, color for my SUV. It's metallic and just gorgeous! I can't wait to take you for a ride! :-)
It is happening for real now, Aunt Cindy, no joke this time!
I love you!!!!!
Can't wait to see you everybody. Thank you to our beloved pet sitters! Mom and Aunt Karen, thanks for making plans and coordinations for our arrival! We love you all and can't wait to see you.
Hello Jason and Micki! Thank you for your wonderful offer, but since we are arriving pretty late (after 10.00 pm), on a Thursday night, we will just rent an SUV at the airport. All of the animals are staying back in Quincy, so it will be easy for us to land in Raleigh. But we are looking forward to see you soon after that! :-)
