My 35th Birthday Party!

Rob was in charge of everything, and he did great! He cleaned, cooked, decorated, ordered the cake, bought the balloons, served, and masterly handled the role of a host for the night. Everything, to my delightfulness, was in pink and white colors: the balloons, plates, napkins, decorations, candles, and even the cake! I was living every (little) girl's dream. Rob even bought Tinkerbell hats for all of us! My sweet Baby knew how to make my party special. On the menu Rob had hush puppies, slipper lobster tail, shrimp and scallops, all nicely fried in southern style breading. Yummmm!!! Beside the wonderful food cooked by Rob, we also had Alex's Hawaiian pork--a taste that is truly hard to forget. The pork was served with a sauce that only enhanced its delicatessy. In addition, Johnnie brought, baked by the master himself, a marvelous cinnamon bread (we are still licking fingers!). Once we finally sat down, there was barely place for our plates--there was so many heavenly dishes on the table.
We've had so much fun. We ate, talked, laughed, took pictures, and ate some more. It was just wonderful being surrounded by friends, and especially on my birthday. We were all full, but there was still the white-pink chocolate cake to eat and some candles to blow out. Rob artfully placed the candles, only 5 at the top and 3 in the bottom of the cake, and after I made a wish, I blew them out. Deeply inside I was thankful that Rob decided not to stick all 35 candles in that beautiful chocolate cake. It would spoil the frosting totally. Really. It would. Not that I am ashamed of my age, no, no--I will never lie about my age! Pinky swear!
I guess the party also had the best beginning even before it started. Surprisingly to both of us, Mom called to wish me a "Happy Birthday Party", and...... she said that I can join her on her business trip to New York in the beginning of April!!! Oh... My.... God....! And Rob let me go! How cool is that??? It's my dream come true--really! I am not sure what kind of sounds were coming out of my lungs, throat, mouth, or even my nose, that's how excited I was, and I still am (without the noises now, though), but Mom was silent for a moment. Oh, I just couldn't gathered my thoughts. I will be spending time with Mom, her fabulous friends that I am dying to meet, and my wonderful and sweet friend Haydee! And I am going to see NEW YORK!!!! Yeaaahhhh! Mom, thank you for inviting me! I love you!
I am going to New York! I am going to New York! I am going to New York! I am going to New York! I am going to New York! I am going to New York!
Robbie spent most of the time in the kitchen, preparing all the delicious food.

Krzysiek (Chris) was our first guest, and a huge help in the kitchen.

Happy me! (even with the red eyes)

With Brian and Angie, his lovely girlfriend, on the couch, waiting for the rest of our gues
ts.
Johnnie wore his favorite suit especially for my birthday! And.... his famous "gators". (Yes, Mom--that is an EYE. But it's plastic.)
In Samoa, it's the men who cook. We decided to keep the tradition that day. Alex and Rob were making sure that we were
being fed.

My sweet princess Lia, so cute...
Ok, they are both cute!

The bowls full of food started filling up the table.

And that's my beautiful cake!!!!!

My Baby was really tired, but he kept the party going!

I would like to thank my wonderful husband for making this amazing party so special, and huge thanks to our friends for showing up, making us laugh, and just being with us on my birthday! We will miss you like crazy, guys!

Happy Birthday, baby. I'm so glad you had a good time. It really was my pleasure, but thanks for saying lots of nice things about me. Mom will be so proud!
Our friends are our life here in Okinawa. They're making it harder and harder to leave. It was nice to meet Angie and have her over. She fit in just perfectly with everybody, calling me a Chia Pet after Beata told her a story that I won't repeat.
As usual, our friends made it a great night for us both, but more importantly--for my favorite girl in the world, my wonderful wife, Beata.
Love you, honey.
I'm so happy your birthday party was such a success. And wow--the food. Of course, that's not unusual at your place--the only change was the cook(s). :) Yay for Rob. And the other guys who cooked and baked.
I'm thrilled about having you with me in NYC, too. It will be so wonderful, Beatka. Love Mom
Beatka, the only thing I would have changed would have been for the birthday cake to say Kupka instead of Beatka. Other than that, it looks perfect.
The wicket Mom.
Honey, thank you so much for all you did that day! I enjoyed every second of my birthday party!
Mom, maybe the next birthday you can order a cake with "Kupka" written on the top??? ;-) That would be hilarious!!!! I am not sure if anybody who reads Polish would eat it!
Haydee, I wish you were here with us at the party! But I will let you do the Snoopy dance when I arrive in NYC!!!! Yes Baby, I am coming!!!!!! :-)
That was a great party Beata! thanks so much for inviting me!
