Tired, busy, and totally sorry for not responding to emails!
We are seriously getting ready to leave. It's now happening for real. Soon, probably Monday or Tuesday, we will know the exact date. The cars are up for sale, all taken care by Rob; paperwork and all of the trip stuff will be done very soon, also all done by Rob; and any day now we will make appointments for the movers to come and pack all of our stuff.
We are really busy.
Last Monday I made reservations for the flea-market, and we went there this morning. Rob didn't even sleep last night, and I got up at 4.00 am because we had to leave that early to be there on time. Since we had tons of unnecessary clothes, shoes, bags, baskets, DVD's, and other stuff (in Rob's words: whole bunch of crap!), and we couldn't possibly fit it in our cars, we borrowed Alex's van. All the boxes and bags barely fit in there.
When we arrived at the flea-market parking lot, it was still dark. We unpacked all of the stuff, not hoping on selling much, and waited until the gate will open for the Japanese buyers. At 7.00 am the gate opened and we both couldn't believe what we saw. About a hundred of people started running toward all of the vendors pushing each other aside, making sure to get there first! I got scared. Seriously. It looked similar what many times I saw back in Poland, while still under communism, when food or detergents got delivered to one of the stores. The same craziness, the same run, the same fever, all the same... ok, maybe except the running Japanese.
We've had two parking spots and all of our stuff was nicely displayed on the ground (which was covered with blue plastic). Well, the nice display didn't last long, maybe about two minutes, then got invaded by possessed women pulling my clothes, shoes, and bags out of each other's hands. It was a mad house! Rob was selling stuff from behind the table that he put up, and I was on the other side, watching and selling bundles of clothes in the speed of light. In about fifty minutes after the gate was opened, we sold most of our stuff. An hour later we lowered the prices--and sold some more. An hour after that we started selling everything at 50 cents per piece, and soon almost everything was gone. When the flea-market ended, we just gave the rest away to people for free. Those were some intense three hours--but soooo much fun! We've made about $400. Pretty good, hmmm? Considering that we didn't expect to make even a hundred.
Many faithful flea-market goers and vendors told us before, on several occasions, that everything sells well, except clothes or shoes. It might be that my stuff was mostly European brands (which means: different) or maybe Japanese women just have a great taste in clothing and good sense of fashion. ;-)
I don't know... But we did great!
And because Rob behaved so nice, I bought him a burger.
(Later I will post few pictures from the crazy flea-market. I am just too tired right now, and the nasty cold got me--again--so I have fever and just feel bleeehhhh...!)

I didn't even get the damn burger she claims to have honored me with. I got some garlic chicken and some maccaroni salad that she made fun of for being "nasty" and "American." Then she kicked me, made a snide remark about my dog, then kicked me again.
Oh well, at least I was allowed to take a nap. She's so great.
Post those pictures, honey! (And get better soon. Tomorrow's a big day with Tuli and Lia!!!)
Love you.
Beata,
Its ok we all love you just the same... even if you don't email us back. LOL... but I guess in m case I would have to email you first to be able to warrant an email back huh? Anyhoo... you all enjoy the day with the kids!!
I know what you mean about a busy day! Them little Japanese ladies LOVE that second hand shopping.
Every day that passes it gets harder and harder to choke down the fact that you and Rob will be gone soon... what then? I keep trying to fight the urge to pray for you two to stay... when I know its time that you go.
One thing that I will do though... thank God for the time that you have left and pray you all Be Blessed in all you do!

So, Johnnie, if you're praying they stay there, and I'm praying they come home, then they're destined to keep flying in between the two places.
Everyone loves them!

Or we might end up somewhere in the middle... and that will be??? Hawaii???? ;-)
Mom, Johnnie B. Smith is one of our dearest friends here in Okinawa. He's actually one of the best guys I've ever met. We've worked together for quite some time, but I didn't get to know him as well as I do now until this past year. Beata and I will really miss him and his wonderful girlfriend, Charmelle.
J.B., thank you for being you, my brother. You'll always have a place to stay at our house--no matter where that might be down the road.
We're gonna get together more before we go, believe me. Gotta maximize our time with all you guys, ya know.
Take it easy-peasey. We've got a big day ahead of us. See you soon.
Mom, don't worry--we're coming back home. And we're looking forward to it too. Love you!
Beata, honey, if we go to Hawaii again, we'll never make it home. Ever. Love you!!!!
Wow, you make me tired just reading about all you have done. Must have been quite the experience with all those people buying your stuff. I need another vacation :-). Can I go back to Cancun? I think I'm caught up on all your posts after being gone for the week. Glad you had a wonderful Valentine's Day. Now you that you've had practice watching those beautiful kids, now you get Hunter and Kayla :-). Love you sis.

I've missed you so much!! I had to come here to find you and say hello. I loved all your latest stories and photos. The story of the market sales was exciting. Glad you had good sales and survived the stampedes! Oh yes, love that little baby Fua - he's just gorgeous.
Bea, I hope your big move goes well. Good luck for getting through the next couple of days and have safe flights. I'll be thinking of you.
Love
Lisa
My sweet Sis! I am so happy that you are back home and closer to Skype! I've missed you so much!!! :-) I can't wait to get my hands on you, and the kids!
Dearest Lisa! I was so happy to "see" you here! I am sorry for not being able to post on HW anymore, but I haven't forgotten it--I was just so busy. Things here are going to get even more crazy and I might not be able to write for a while. I am thinking of you though, my sweet Lisa, and I can't wait to see you in Nashville! Kisses!!! Bea.
