My test

Yesterday I went to Raleigh for my interview and to take my citizenship test. The test was great! I passed perfectly. I wish it was longer--hahahahaha! I just loved it because I was so prepared and could answer all of the questions. The lady who was my interviewer wasn't the nicest person. She was complaining that it was her husband's birthday and she shouldn't be at work. She also kept complaining that she has to take copies of my paperwork. Duuhhhh!!!!
My case was her first "military" case, and she wasn't exactly sure about certain things. It all ended with that I will need Rob's orders from Japan, going back 3 years and 5 years, showing my name on his orders. And, she said it has to be the original! if it wasn't for that paper, I would have been scheduled for the sworn ceremony on this coming Friday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But now I have to wait a month and a half!

When I told Rob about this document, it turns out that such thing doesn't even really exist as original. So, I am going to call there soon, when I find a number so I can speak to a person and not a machine. That lady wouldn't even give me a phone number when I asked for it. She said that all what I have to do is to bring that paper to the next meeting in May and that's all. What a b....!

There were other things that happened, but I just don't want this posting to be all complains and all. I just didn't have that of a good day, except of passing that test so well. And she gave me the hardest part, the government. Ha! But I knew that too! ;-)

hip hip hooray...Seriously, congratulations, because except for dotting a couple I's and crossing a couple T's, YOU ARE NOW A CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA..... let me be one of the first to welcome YOU with open arms and a big HUG from Home.
(keep us posted what you hear...maybe you can still get in on Friday?)

You are not a U.S. citizen until those i's are dotted and t's crossed, and you have been given/taken the oath. I have no doubt you'll be given the oath, and you will be a great asset to the United States of America. Being there are government employees involved with a certain job security to match a certain attitude, please don't call it a done deal until the oath has been given/taken and the paperwork has been completed. These employees have a certain knack for delays and other undeserving hardships that can pop your joyful bubble. When you do recieve your citizenship, there will be much reason to celebrate. You will have navigated one of the U.S.A.'s most difficult government agencies and will have been welcomed with open arms. Just call me jealous of those that become naturalized. I was born in the USA and I tend to take it for granted as a result. Sincerely, Anonymous...

Congratulations on passing and so well Beata! Ignore anonymous. Anon commenters bug me on blogs. If you can't say it with your name attached, I say don't say it at all.

Keep us posted on the progress!
