Charity Party at the Museum of Art

Last night, I went to Fayetteville Museum of Art, to a black dress party. Only women invited. One of my new friends, Shani, (her husband and Rob are close friends and they work together), invited me about two weeks ago, and I was so excited. Also, Monica, another of our friends, showed up. There was so many women! Oh, my gosh. I really didn't get the memo that this was a REAL dress up party, style of Audrey Hepburn from "Breakfast at Tiffany's." If I only knew it was so elegant, I would have bought a black dress and some pearls, and did my hair. Instead of I looked like an idiot with a super short disco dress! Geez!
So, now wearing my totally inappropriate dress, and feeling out of place, I met up with Shani and Monica at the museum. All of the women looked beautiful. We were around 100 people. There was food (gourmand!), including delicious desserts, champagne and other alcohol, and the whole place looked so beautiful. I enjoyed checking out all the outfits, hair styles, faces... Oh, I was in heaven. I met a lot of wonderful women, from a circle of artists, designers, and people that are not at all into art. :-) I was able to share my knowledge about art, and tell them about my paintings. I felt so wonderful being with people who shared my interests.

For the past week, I have been having migraines every day. I did also yesterday, and maybe that's why I didn't put that much attention to the whole "look" thing. But it didn't matter, I had a blast! We all got nice gift certificates to a medical spa, fashion boutique, and invitation to another party in April, which theme is the 1920's. Men are invited this time. I can't wait!!!! Monica and I are going to check some second hand stores for old fashion dresses and accessories. Yeah!

At the end of the party, with our jackets on and ready to leave, Monica and I were stopped by this lady who is a jewelery designer, very well known in this area. She asked if we would be interested to model for her, with her new collection. She was so excited to meet us, and kept telling us all those compliments. I guess I was blushing because I look pretty red in pictures.

Oh, and now to the best part of that evening!!!! On the way home, I was pulled over by a police car!!!!! Yeeessss!!! For speeding!!!! OMG! I was so excited! I have never ever been pulled over by police. I was wondering when would that happen! He was following me, with the all of the lights on, which was cool, and when I pulled over and he approached me, I couldn't hide my happiness!!! Well, I behaved well, but I did have a smile on my face. Maybe he thought I was mentally challenged... I am not sure. He asked for my driving license and registration papers, but I had no idea if registratioin papers are something I should have with me, or is that thing in the glove compartment. So I asked him. I handled him the whole book, and asked him to help himself since I had no idea what he was looking for. Ok, I am still blond underneath my brown hair! Well, the whole thing lasted only about 15 minutes. He smiled and smiled back, than left home. I couldn't wait to tell Rob about my happy evening! Oh, and I didn't get a ticket.

That's Monica (on the left), and Shani.

Sounds like a fun girls-night-out! So when do you start the jewelry-modeling? That sounds exciting! I could've done without the police pulling you over though...but no ticket, that's doable. Have a good day. ;-)

Hello Kelly and Debbie, I was so excited about the police pulling over, because that was my forst time! And, I was speeding 19 over... which I first realize how bad it was when I told Rob. ;-) I just always wanted to be stopped by police... hahahahha! Only once!
The party was so nice, but from now on I need to invest in a descent black dress. Every woman should have one, right?
About the jewelry I will find out after the weekend is over. :-)

Sounds like your good looks and polite manners may have saved you from getting a ticket!

You obviously brought your A game to that Stodgy Ol Museum Party because even the NC police seemed to KNOW it. NOW SLOW down...better to get there a few minutes later than not at all.

I have been driving slowly ever since (that means the speed limit!), and it's sooo boring. But I've been good! ;-)))

I got a speeding ticket in 1994 and another one for expired plates in 2000. The police scare me!
