Wanting snow, again!

Unfortunately, this picture wasn't taken in NC! Oh, well, it's the time of the year when I am missing snow like a crazy person! Again, wanting to go to Alaska, and of course, adopt a little Husky puppy. I think that the trip is even more possible than having another dog. Yeah, Rob knows me by now well enough and doesn't but any of my tricks.
It's been pretty cool here lately, which makes me happy. I hate when it's warm around the holidays. At nights it gets as low as 22 degrees. Chilli has to wear his sweater when he goes out, otherwise he will not even get close to the door. He is such a funny guy. Sometimes, we just forget that he is a dog... :-)
We have been busy with work, Christmas shopping, and everything else that happens around this time of the year. I wish I had taken some new pictures and posted more often here, but sometimes it's hard to find time. I would like to catch up with the Thanksgiving weekend. It was probably the best and most fun Thanksgiving so far. Mom arrived on Wednesday, and from that day on, we just had so much fun and a great family time. Lots of cooking, preparing for the big feast, cleaning, playing with the doggies... Too bad Mom couldn't bring her little Gussie with her. She missed her pets so much, and I totally understand that.
We've had a very international Thanksgiving. That shows again how mixed America is, and I love it. My best friend, Pia, who is Danish, came over with her family. Pia's husband, Tommy, is Swedish. They have two daughters and two of them joined us for dinner. It was so much fun and so much of great food! Mom, me, and Pia, separately cooked a few dishes, so combining it all, we've had tons of food to try. After we ate, we played games, and sang Karaoke. Rob got his Karaoke machine as one of his birthday presents, and we bought lots of CD's with old and new songs. Pia's daughters, 10 and 14 years old, had so much fun signing, and so did we. It was just such a perfect day!
Weekend went too fast, and Sunday morning Mom had to leave. Rob took her to the airport around 4 am. Poor Mom had to, once again, get up super early. I really wish she could have stayed at least 2-3 days longer. It was soooo good...
Last week I went to get a tree. I don't know if I was stroked by sudden blindness or something, but I brought home the ugliest tree we've ever had. Today I am trying to decorate the house, and the poor tree. I will really have to use my creativity to hide it's imperfections. I feel so bad about it, that I even let Rob to make fun of me whenever he wants to. And he wants it often! Ha! I am paying for stupidity!

No snow here either, sweetie. Just lots of cold weather, but Gussie loves it. Had him groomed but left his hair long, so he's good in the cold weather.
Sorry Sis, to get to our snow here, you would have to drive to our mountains... but it's only 45 minutes from our house :-). Glad to hear that a good time was had by all. Family visits are always too short. Take care and chat soon.
So glad you had a great visit with Jer! We got about 2" of snow last weekend...Jeff and I and the kids played out in it for about an hour. Made a snowman and 2 forts...then had a short-lived snowball fight. FUN!
BUT...it is mostly gone now...
We are ready for a "real" snow here too! The little dusting we had last week just made the boys antsy for some snow fun. And I can't wait to see how Ellie reacts.
Glad you had a great Thanksgiving! Hope you get your wish for some holiday white!
Our snow came and went...leaving only the cold behind! I think I will be having a tree to match yours-so few places here selling real trees and they are all small and/or ugly bare......I am not sure what I will do, except maybe cry! I just cant do a fake tree......
Oh, so I am not alone wiht waiting for the snow.. :-) You guys just made me feel better! If I could, I would fly there just for a weekend as soon as it snows in Quincy! I finally decorated the ugly tree and was able to cover it up, but it still looks weird to me. Rob doesn't see it, but I do! Love you, girls!!!
