Relaxing Weekend
Finally two days off! I really needed it... It feels so good to just spend time at home, with our pets and enjoy the beautiful weather.
We had a short visit Friday evening. What a surprise! Charmell, our dear friend from Okinawa, came to NC and stopped by. It was wonderful to see her. We missed her so much and were really happy that she was able to visit us, even for the short amount of time. Charmell stayed over night and left Saturday noon. But we managed to have a wonderful morning together.
It was great to see you Charmell!!! :-)
It's been really warm and nice outside. I know people are complaining here about the humidity and the heat, but for us it's just warm (comparing to Okinawa's summers). Yesterday we went to near by farm, called Grosse's Market, and we bought their home made ice cream. We just discovered this place, even though Kathryn and Tom kept telling us about it for weeks now. I love ice cream and had ate tons of it in my life, but I swear--I've never had anything better than Grosse's butter pecan ice cream!!! OHHHHH......!!!! So good!!! It's made of the fresh and pure cream, with all of the best ingredients. Too bad they are closing soon... We are going to miss all the fresh vegetables and fruits we were able to get there. Today we will go there just to stock up on ice cream. :-)
Our little Chilli dog is doing great. I bought some training pads so he can learn how to use the "bathroom" correctly, but yesterday he did great with going outside and doing what the big dogs are used to. Later in the evening he did pee and pooped on the pad though! Yeaahh! He is so good. And soooo adorable. I can't wait to start dressing him! Next week I will take him shopping and buy him a nice hoodie. ;-) I just decided to spoil him rotten. Yep. He will be the best dressed dog in NC!
Chilli sleeps through the whole night, but wakes up at 6.00 am as that's my normal time to get up. I wish he knew it's Sunday and it's ok to sleep at least few hours longer...
Aunt Cindy gave me some good advise about how to handle a little Dachsund, and I will follow the directions. I want my little baby to be healthy and well. But as for now he is doing all the puppy stuff and is full of energy. On Tuesday I am taking him to the vet for his shots and check up. The dogs and Billie love to play with him, although he is really taking advantage of Bobby's patience, biting the hell out of Bobby's tail, paws, nose, lips, neck and everything that is available.

How nice that Charmell was able to visit you. but if you dress the dog I'll have to disown you. Love Mom
Mom, you will never find a daughter-in-law that loves you so much, so just let me dress the dog!!! ha!ha!ha! Plus, it's too late, you can't get rid of me anyway... ;-)
Charmell's visit was amazing. We all couldn't believe that she was here, at our house in NC!
Rob, I beg you stop her before she becomes one of "those people," you know the ones who dress dogs. In the name of everything that's holy, STOP HER!
(Sorry, Beata, I love you so much, but NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!)
Chilli will think "Help me, I'm not a dog anymore" HA To be honest, we had a sweater for our short haired doxie and she wore it a lot in the winter or she shivered terribly....or sat on the heat duct and lost the hair on her tail in stripes...So go ahead and dress him up, but remember he is a BOY>>>you dont' want him to think he is cross dressing or anything...he might need therapy then! BTW, that 2nd to last picture of him with is head cocked is SO DAMN CUTE, I'm thinking of dog napping him.
Glad you had fun with your friend, and what a unexpected treat to see her again so soon.
For dog's sake, don't do it!
My darling friend's,
it was so awesome to be able to visit and spend some time with you. Like you said Beata the visit was amazing and unbelievable that I was sitting the house I have seen so many pictures of. Continue to be blessed and much love to you both.
Charmell
I agree with Aunt Cindy on that picture. I could just eat him up, he's so cute!!!
I knew that Aunt Cindy would understand me! :-) Chilli really gets cold, especially in the early mornings. We tried to sleep wit the A/C off, but it was too hot. Now we have the A/C back on and I am also thinking of getting a cute pyjamas for Chilli... I am serious! :-) But I promise, I will dress him in "boyish" colors.
Charmell, it really was a very special visit. We miss you sooo much! It was great to have you here, even for that short.
Hi Beata and Rob,
Love the new dog. You don't really want to dres him in clothes, do you? Oh dear.
I miss you guys. We talk about you so often. So glad you had such a great visit with Charmel! I have heard so much about her I feel like I know her. She reminds me so much of my friend Polly. Is she here for good, or going back to Okinawa? Either way, Hi Charmel!
Talk to you soon,
Aunt Karen
Too late, Dave... :-)
